Stabilization of catanionic vesicles via polymerization
Article Abstract:
Polymerizabe cationic surfactant methacryloyloxyoctyl trimethylammonium bromide and anionic surfactant sodium 4-(omega-methcryloyloxyoctyl)oxy benzene sulfonate are synthesized. The polymerization of catanionic vesicles can permanently capture the unilamellar vesicular microstructure and the structural integrity of polymerized vesicles can be well preserved under various perturbations, such as dilution or addition of excess single chain surfactants.

In situ and frontal polymerization for the consolidation of porous stones: A unilateral NMR and magnetic resonance imaging study
Article Abstract:
The consolidation treatment of porous materials is performed by in situ and frontal polymerization of acrylic monomers inside a porous stone and its penetration is detected by using unilateral NMR and magnetic resonance imaging. The results have indicated that unilateral NMR represents an inexpensive and simple technique for the non-invasive observation of the water uptake and of the effect of consolidation procedures in porous materials.
