Structure and bonding of gold metal clusters, colloids, and nanowires studied by EXAFS, XANES, and WAXS
Article Abstract:
EXAFS, XANES and WAXS were used for studying the structure and bonding of a series of gold clusters and gold nanomaterials that were stabilized by ligands or confined within nanoporous alumina. The results provide a clear pattern of buildup of metallic structure and bonding in these materials as the number of gold increases and can assist in understanding their physical properties.

Resonant electron scattering of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid self-assembled monolayer adsorbed on Au (111)
Article Abstract:
A High-Resolution Electron Energy Loss study of an 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid self-assembled monolayer (SAM) adsorbed on Au (111) is presented. The first resonance phenomena is attributed to a negative ion resonance involving the carboxylic group, and the second one is the well-known resonance of CH2.
