Transport in amorphous solid water films: Implications for self-diffusivity
Article Abstract:
The transport process in structured, nanoscale amorphous solid water (ASW) films was studied to gain insights into the nature of water's glass transition and fragility at temperatures prior to transformation to Cl. It was found that the intermixing of isotopically labeled, structured films occurs similarly with and without hydrophobic spacer layers and the nonmonotonic behavior of the desorption ratio during desorption of structured ASW films is fundamentally inconsistent with a bulk diffusion mechanism.

Binding of metal ions to polyelectrolytes and their oligomeric counterparts: an application of a generalized Potts model
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to investigate the competitive binding of metal ions and protons to polyelectrolytes and the corresponding oligomers within a statistical mechanics framework. The binding interactions are assumed to be short ranged and parametrized in terms of nearest neighbor pair interactions.
