According to Creative Strategies International, a California based market research and consulting firm, lap-size computers may be the next generation of home computers. By 1986, lap-size computers will be completely functional, featuring 32-bit microprocessors and one-megabyte RAM storage. The hand-held computer will be targeted at technical and scientific markets. As the lighter lap-size computers gain full capacity, it is expected that consumers will lose interest in transportable computers.

Designed to Attract the Best
Article Abstract:
Crocker National Bank's Computer Systems Development facility in San Francisco is the recipient of a 1983 'Offices of the Year' award. Genster and Associates designed the facility on what was formerly a market. Workstations on each floor are designed to accomodate VDTs. Cabling is routed overhead and down through columns for distribution. Lighting is provided by built-in task lights, and soundproofing by acoustical ceiling tile. Photographs of areas of the building are provided.
