Software Links Multivendor Office Systems into IBM's DISOSS Environment
Article Abstract:
The Soft-Switch electronic document system can be linked to the IBM DISOSS environment through the DISOSS Bridge. The DISOSS Bridge integrates DCA (Document Content Architecture) and DIA (Document Interchange Architecture) to enable communications between an IBM host and products of other vendors such as NBI, Wang, and Xerox word processors. The Soft-Switch product line is priced per module, and a typical starter system is $49,000. The DISOSS interface is priced at $20,000, or $10,000 if the DCA translator is already in place. A flowchart of the DISOSS environment is included.
