Single non-contact IC cards serve in array of uses
Article Abstract:
Tamura Corp of Japan has jointly developed with Siemens AG of Germany a microchip with an interface that satisfies ISO144443 Type A international standards for non-contact, proximity-format integrated circuit (IC) cards. The TN2-04 chip is based on a memory format that employs wired logic for security. A hierarchical key allows access to different areas of the memorty, thereby resulting in a card that can be used for different purposes, including prepaid services and club membership.
