Cobra puts 3rd extension on date for Lowrance deal

Cobra Electronics has again extended the deadline of its tender offer for all the outstanding shares of Lowrance Electronics' common stock. It is the deadline's third extension, and Cobra insists that it is still interested in acquiring Lowrance. Cobra is using the latest extension to complete due diligence after Lowrance reported that it will have lower- than-expected sales for the quarter ending Jan 31, 2001. Lowrance manufactures GPS and sonars while Cobra makes CB radio, radar detection and FRS equipment.

ICOM America Inc, a golbal manufacturer of communications and navigation equipment, has acquired the assets of Micrologic Inc, a Chatsworth, CA- based manufacturer of Loran and GPS technology. ICOM America Pres Hiro Nakaoka hopes that the consolidation will lead to the easy development of manufacture of GPS products.
