ERA attendees see two types of convergence

The Electronic Retailing Assn (ERA) Spring 2000 conference gave emphasis on the integration of new media and forays into new countries. The four- day event also sought to bridge the gap between language and new consumer delivery systems. ERA CEO Elissa Myers noted the presence of new faces at the conference, including Latino Internet firms, Spanish-language direct response TV products and television convergence companies. Myers also announced the appointment of Media Solutions Services Jeffrey Giordano, as ERA's chairman of the board.

IKEA moves to rectify privacy breach
Article Abstract:
IKEA, a furniture manufacturer in Sweden, has conducted an investigation after discovering that personal information of catalog requesters was unprotected on the company's Web site in the US. The company immediately closed the catalog request portion of the site after discovering that its customers' privacy have been breached and will not make the portion avaialbe until the problem has been resolved.
