Egghead.com taps Edith Roman for 2.9M list

Online discount retailer Egghead.com of Vancouver, WA, has tapped Edith Roman Associates Inc of Pearl River, NY, to manage its 2.9 million member opt-in e-mail newsletter program. Egghead, which sells computers, accessories, software and peripheral devices, said that the electronic sponsorship program would enable the company to link the customers to the advertisers and their products. The newletter's e-mail names were drawn from catalog requests, repeat bidders at the auctions, users who enter their e-mail address on the Egghead.com site and buying customers.

George-Mann Assoc has been selected as manager of the list of 124,000 last-12-month buyers and requesters of skin care products made by Key West Aloe. The list is made up predominantly of female buyers between 35 to 50 and with an annual income of $100,000. George-Mann also is the manager for list of 28,000 last-12-month buyers of high-heeled shoes and boots from Footwear Beyond-Dan Martin Designs Ltd. The list contains the names of male and female buyers with an average age of 30 and with average annual incomes of $35,000.

Venture Direct to manage McGraw Hill Group files

McGraw Hill has appointed Venture Direct to manage its Professional Book Group Masterfile of 400,000 book buyers as well as its subcategory lists. The Masterfile is a 24-month file containing the names of direct-mail buyers of technical books. Its subcategories can contain up to 15 individual files when classified by book subject. Venture had the files overlaid with business demographic information for higher selectivity. It also plans to add opt-in e-mail addresses in the future.
