Firm buys back DIMAC, merges it with AmeriComm

McCown De Leeuw and Co., a New York-based private investment firm, has bought a full stake worth over $450 million in AmeriComm Holdings Inc. (AHI) and has re-acquired DIMAC Marketing Corp. McCown will combine AmeriComm and AHI into a single holding company that will be expanded through more acquisitions. The new company will be led by chairman and CEO Martin Lewis, who is the present AHI director. Meanwhile, three companies have been acquired in the last 13 months by AHI, which runs AmeriComm Direct Marketing Inc. and includes Time-Warner and American Bankers Insurance as its clients.

Dimac concludes sale of AmeriComm assets

Dimac Holdings Inc, a direct response marketing services provider, has entered into an agreement for the sale of certain assets of its unit, AmeriComm Direct Marketing Inc, to a group led by J David Craig, CEO of AmeriComm Acquisition Co LLC. In addition, the Craig-led group agreed to retain the same trade names and to hire most of Americomm Direct's workers. The asset purchase includes AmeriComm Direct's operations in Norfolk, VA and Louisville, KY.

Dimac may sell AmeriComm units
Article Abstract:
Direct response marketing solutions firm Dimac Marketing Corp has announced that its AmeriComm Holdings subsidiary is considering selling various noncore business units. The plan is part of Dimac's efforts to improve profitability, eliminate excess debt and execute its growth plan. Dimac has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in spring 2000 to facilitate its revitalization program and reorganize its capital structure.
