Jobless one month, at White House the next
Article Abstract:
The dire economic conditions of the North Carolina textile industry left thousands of North Carolinians unemployed among whom were Pam Gurganus and Willie Rankins. Little did they expect of their employment at Regulator Marine at Edenton, NC would one day provide them and their bosses the Maxwells, with an opportunity of meeting president George W. Bush to celebrate small business success stories. For the Maxwells the company's sales growth of 15% over 2003, purchasing of new manufacturing equipment, and developing of a new training module with the help of the College of the Albemarle, Edenton granted them this great opportunity.
