Showcase home entry recalls rural country living
Article Abstract:
The Willow Bend in Greensboro, NC, received a 1993 Best in American Living Grand Award. The designer used natural siding to achieve a rural country home look and relate the house to its surrounding areas. Columns separate the foyer from the great and dining rooms while the staircase separates the living room from other ground floor areas. The breakfast area near the kitchen has the same octagonal shape as the master bedoom's seating area. Three other bedrooms are located on the second floor where the hallway overlooks the great room.
