Ohio consumer agency urges do-not-call list
Article Abstract:
Local telephone service providers in Ohio that sell products through telemarketing may have to provide a do-not-call list if the proposal by a consumer-advocacy agency is adopted by the state Public Utilities Commission. The proposal was prompted by complaints from consumers about Ameritech trying to sell products to those who called the company for service repairs. A decision by the commission could be issued within before the end of 2000.
