AARP selects PR firm as its agency of record

Fleishman-Hillard Inc has been selected by the American Assn of Retired Persons (AARP) to handle the main bulk of its national marketing communications. The agreement is different from most client-agency relationships in that AARP will be provided with strategic counsel by Fleishman-Hillard in addition to its work on marketing, public relations and point-of-purchase displays.

Florida power utility connects with Fahlgren

Florida Power Corp of St Petersburg, FL, has chosen Tampa, FL-based Fahlgren Advertising and Communications as its agency of record. Billings were not disclosed. Florida Power, one of the biggest investor-owned utilities in the US, serves 1.3 million customers in northern and central Florida. Fahlgren, a $170 million marketing communications firm, lists McDonald's Restaurants, Owens Corning, the Tampa Tribune and Florida Tourism among its clients.

Robinson & Maites adds Internet to core offerings

Direct marketing firm Robinson and Maites Promotion Marketing has signed an agreement with Response Logic which will add Internet profiling and content technologies to the former. Robinson and Maites Pres Alan Maites hailed the contract as the next important step in his firm's evolution. On the other hand, Response Logic CEO Jim Scott said his company was eagerly looking forward to adopting its ADAPTe technology with Robinson and Maites marketing skills.
