Isotope studies of granitoids from the Bangenhuk Formation, Ny Friesland Caledonides, Svalbard
Article Abstract:
Researchers have classified the Caledonian Hecla Hoek succession in Ny Friesland, eastern Svalbard as a continuous stratigraphic sequence. The succession's upper parts are composed of early Palaeozoic and Neoproterozoic strata, with amphibolite facies rocks in the lower layers. Recent studies indicated the technostratigraphic nature of the Stubendorffbreen succession, which is made up of at least three thrust sheets. New data on the Bangenhuk and Instrumentberget gneisses in the succession are presented.

Geochemistry and eruptive environment of metavolcanic rocks from the Mona Complex of Anglesey, North Wales, U.K
Article Abstract:
Chemical research into the composition of metavolcanic rocks from the Mona Complex of Anglesey in North Wales reveals they are similar to volcanic arc andesites and modern mid-ocean ridge basalts. It is probable that these rocks were formed during the late Precambrian-early Paleozoic opening of the Iapetus Ocean. They were later tectonically emplaced within the Mona Complex during the closure of the ocean.
