Agglomeration and economic development: import substitution vs. trade liberalisation
Article Abstract:
A model of economic development wherein agglomeration of industry caused international differences in income and industrial structure was analyzed. The research focused on two issues affecting the economic development process. The first concern is the spatial implications of growth in world manufacturing wherein demand for labor is increased. Another concern is how trade policy in developing countries affects industrialization.

Countervailing duties
Article Abstract:
Countervailing duties (CVD) are selective tariffs on imports activated by government subsidies of the exporting country. They are not condemned as strongly as anti-dumping tariffs since they mitigate distortions. However, there is the skeptical notion that protectionism for subsidies could do more damage than the subsidies themselves.

International trade, factor mobility, and trade costs
Article Abstract:
The Heckscher-Ohlin model accounts for the relationship of trade flows with international differences in factors of production. The direction of trade and the issue of which goods are traded are analyzed in the study. The production structure is retained to be able to use factors of production as inputs and goods as outputs.
