An economic analysis of Japanese distribution systems
Article Abstract:
An economic analysis of Japanese distribution systems by using the successive monopoly model is analyzed. Comparison is done between the Tatene system (TS) with the open price systems (OPS) by using the successive monopoly model, and shows that the actual change from TS is greater than OPS from an economic point of view.

The measurement of marketing efficiency in the presence of spillovers: theory and evidence
Article Abstract:
Model demonstrating the use of directional distance function to measure the degree of inefficiency in marketing is presented. Concept of 'advertising spillovers' is examined. Evidence from United States brewing industry is provided to prove that a firm's success is considerably affected by advertising efficiency.

Research is presented concerning the use of a two-period model to investigate the marketing strategy of a durable goods monopolist. The reduction in the value of older models by the marketing of new models is discussed.
