Artificial intelligence in economics: truth and dare
Article Abstract:
Artificial intelligence (AI) methods have not yet been widely applied in the field of economics despite the widespread recognition of the potentials of such methods. The use of AI techniques to solve qualitatively reasoned problems on complex dynamic systems is therefore considered, with an emphasis being placed on the use of advanced visual and symbolic techniques. It is demonstrated that the application of AI methods in the examination of complex dynamic systems requires their adaptation to the idiosyncratic structures characteristic of problems in mathematical economics.

Challenges of China's economic system for economic theory
Article Abstract:
The challenges of China's market economy for economic theory involve four issues. These are the Western legal system versus China's semi-legal system, individual versus collective welfare, multiparty versus one-party systems and public versus private ownership. China's recent economic growth raised relevant questions on the issues. These questions, such as the role of democracy on economic development, merit additional economic research.
