Dynamic products in world exports
Article Abstract:
The values of three product categories, namely electrical and electronic goods, goods from industries requiring high R&D expenditures and labor-intensive products, have grown during the period 1980-2000. The developing country exports are increasingly concentrated in computers and office equipment, semiconductors and apparel.

Africa's export structure in a comparative perspective
Article Abstract:
Econometric analysis indicates that the combination of rich resources and low educational levels in Africa results in the concentration of exports on unprocessed primary products. An increase in the level of exports across all sectors is the priority for the country.

Economic development in Africa is examined. Many African countries fail to sustain investment growth after independence and the structural limits which restrict agricultural productivity growth are not tackled.
