Implementing regulations for Omani withholding tax
Article Abstract:
Oman adopts a withholding tax law on July 1, 1997 involving particular payments made by business enterprises in the country to foreign companies that do not have permanent offices in Oman. The withholding tax law was created through Royal Decree (RD) 87/96 and covers payments such as royalties, management fees, research and development fees and technical expertise transfer fees. Payment of withholding tax is expected within 14 days of the end of the due month.

U.A.E.'s building hardware market boosted by construction, tourism

The article presents an overview of the building hardware market in the United Arab Emirates. Accordingly, a report by the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service says the market grew to an estimated $101.9 million in 2001. The construction and tourism industries are the major sectors generating demand for building hardware.
