The Swedish metalworkers' union settlement, which may increase wages as much as ten percent, is a major setback to the government's plans for economic recovery. The devaluation of the krona in 1982 has greatly improved Sweden's trade performance. The Swedish government hopes to reduce its growing budget deficit. The selling of some of Sweden's state-owned companies has been initiated.

A Tonic for the Counter Culture
Article Abstract:
Japan's over-the-counter (OTC) market is not heavy in trading. Current restrictions send traders to the main market. The rules for trading are to be enacted by the Japan Security Dealers Association, and the Ministry of Finance. A new system of registered dealers and easier listing requirements should help Japan's OTC Market.
