Planned changes in the Consumer Price Index in 2004
Article Abstract:
Consumer Price Index program completed its conversion to Computer Assisted Data Collection (CADC) due to which efficiencies were gained. Introduction of CADC reduced the time required to transmit and process data allowing the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to collect prices during the entire index month without compromising the timelessness of the CPI release that takes place during the middle of the subsequent month.
