The effect of management buyouts on firm-level technical inefficiency: evidence from a panel of UK machinery and equipment manufacturers
Article Abstract:
A study of the efficiency of UK equipment and machinery manufacturing firms after management buyouts from 1986-97 is discussed. There is higher efficiency two years prior to the management buyout until five years after the buyout. Managerial incentives are considered the impetus for this efficiency increase.
