The output-inflation tradeoff and central bank reform: evidence from New Zealand
Article Abstract:
The impact of institutional change on economic relationships was assessed through the use of data showing the effects of the 1989 Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act. Data showed that implementation of the Reserve Bank Act, which amended optimal stabilization policy and wage indexation, in New Zealand has resulted to a higher short-run output-inflation tradeoff. The high short-run tradeoffs that have occurred in the country was found to be related with low expected inflation and low average inflation.

The role of selective job search in UK unemployment
Article Abstract:
No correlation was established between selective searches and the continued occurrence of high unemployment incidence in the United Kingdom (UK) since early 1980s. Utilization of the UK microdata revealed that selective search offers a better alternative to unemployed since it is more likely to result to acceptable offers. The unemployment rate of the country could have risen further if broad job searching was promoted among the unemployed.
