A bit of trench warfare
Article Abstract:
Archaeologist Mick Aston believes the research assessment exercise is corrupt and claims that several academics are considering rebelling against it. Aston regrets that he no longer has sufficient time to dedicate to teaching archaeology as he also appears in the highly popular television programme 'Time Team,' in which he makes an archaeological assessment of an undiscovered site within three days. Aston anticipated the programme's success, primarily because of the enthusiasm shown towards archaeology by his students.
