To Wit: a culture clash
Article Abstract:
Black and white academic and management staff at the South African University of Witwatersrand have been arguing for several months over the alleged unsuitability of the university's new deputy vice chancellor, William Malegapuru Makgoba. 13 White staff are disputing that Makgoba is a member of the British Transplant Society and American Association of Immunology, and claim that he has gained his managerial position under false pretenses. Makgoba, however, accuses the group of rightwing attitudes which are slowing down the Africanisation of the university.
