An evil man or a man for wicked times?
Article Abstract:
The Nazi regime which overtook Germany during the time Adolf Hitler came to power, in the 1930 and 1940s, was not due entirely to Hitler's own personality. The German elite allowed him to come to power and supported him until he began to fail. Hitler's ideas permitted society to act illegally, such as industrialists denouncing their competitors as non-Aryan. Hitler was responsible for the actions of his supporters but often from a distance. His followers would take his ideologies and put them into operation.
