Beware the 'Ivy League.'(concept of the 'Ivy League' and UK university research funding)
Article Abstract:
The concept of the Ivy League has been applied to the United Kingdom in arguments against a system of funding for research in a small elite of universities. The US Ivy League is in fact a diverse group, and not all members have strong research rankings. The UK has seen a large expansion of higher education which has led to pressure on university infrastructure. Oxford ranks first among UK universities in terms of science research, with Cambridge following. There is diversity in science research in the UK as is true for the US.
