Cretaceous crimes that fuel the fossil trade
Article Abstract:
Brazil boasts a thriving but illegal fossil industry. 'Peixeiros' or fishermen the Ceara state of Brazil have dug a variety of prehistoric fossils, including Cladocyclus fish, insects, parts of a Pterosaur, and even a Cretaceous plant. Trading is illegal, however, the police largely turn a blind eye. Crato's Museu de Fosseis boasts over 10,000 fossils which have all been confiscated.
