Ambassadors, go forth and multiply
Article Abstract:
An overview of the Undergraduate Ambassadors Scheme, a scheme in the UK designed to help halt a decline in science and maths at A-level by giving undergraduate role models credit for any work they do in schools. The scheme, which was developed by writer and broadcaster Simon Singh, has just finished its pilot year and has signed up 14 university departments for the coming year, with a further 40 expressing their interest for the year after.

Creativity of two cultures
Article Abstract:
Creative writing and scientific research are similar in that the names and data used for description and classification of scientific facts are as imaginative and intuitive as the creative images used in poems. Knowledge and language grow through like processes in knowledge systems of science and arts, and clarity in writing allows effective communication of ideas.
