Empire's heir in need of a new image
Article Abstract:
The Symons commission argues that there is a need to focus attention on Commonwealth studies throughout the Commonwealth, in order to increase understanding of the Commonwealth. The UK has tended to be the biggest donor to a postgraduate funding plan called the Commonwealth Scholarship and fellowship Plan, but the number of scholarships funded has dropped since 1991 to 1992. A project for undergraduates, the Commonwealth Universities Study Abroad Consortium, has also been affected by a scarcity of funds.
