Fresh calls for degree revamp
Article Abstract:
The number of first and upper second class degrees awarded in the UK has risen for the fourth year in a row, triggering fresh calls for the degree classification system to be overhauled. In the period since 2000-2001, the number of firsts awarded has risen by almost 25% to 32,5000 in 2004-2005, while the number of upper seconds has risen by 12% to 132,800.
