High college failure rate places plans for expansion in jeopardy
Article Abstract:
Yeovil College has become the 13th institution to fail a Quality Assurance Agency inspection, further undermining the government's plans to expand higher education through the delivery of courses in the further education sector. The failure means that over 8% of all college departments that provide higher education courses have been judged to be failing. This compares to under 1% when all university departments were inspected in a similar exercise between 1992 and 2000.
