The growth of the Internet has not done away with books and newspapers, as many contended that it would, but it has changed the way in which information is collated and disseminated. This has led to an erosion of the traditional scholarly hierarchies, releasing the masses and allowing a flourishing of differing opinions.

Barefoot evangelist who helps the poor pull themselves up by their own bootstraps
Article Abstract:
Sanjit 'Bunker' Roy has been preaching 'people's' solutions to help the impoverished learn and earn for over 30 years. He founded the Barefoot College in rural India and he has won several social entrepreneurship awards.
