Letting learners mark the teachers
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the higher education quality-assurance system adopted in Scotland, in which feedback from students about the quality of teaching they have received is just as important as assessment of standards by academics. The impact and success of the Scottish system is being monitored by university sectors across Europe and the rest of the world and, to date, the system appears to be working, improving the quality of teaching and the university environment for students while reducing the regulatory burden on academics.
