Mandela slams 'reverse racism.'(disruption on campuses in South Africa)
Article Abstract:
Violent disruptions have occurred on South African campuses leading to a call by Nelson Mandela, president of the country, for authorities to deal with the issue. He argues that they should not be afraid to tackle the problem on the grounds that the perpetrators are black. Failure to deal with the issue implies that black people are undisciplined, and this could be described as reverse racism, argues Mandela. Universities affected include University of Zululand and University of Vista.

Article Abstract:
Links between race and education have been documented from population censuses for South Africa. Planners can thus identify where resources are needed. The Western Cape and Guatong are well-off in educational terms, while KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape are worst off. There is a 43% literacy rate among adult black South Africans, and 8% have passed their matric compared with 61% of whites and 27% of Indians. Matric is associated with higher employment levels for all groups.
