Mexico looks to UK to profit from spin-offs

Education bosses in Mexico are so impressed by the successful way in which universities in the UK have been exploiting their research that they are keen to forge links with British institutions and apply British knowledge to their own scientific projects. For universities in the UK, closer links with Mexico would be very desirable as Mexico has been identified as a possible "new India", with a highly motivated population that is eager to improve its skills.

LSE buys space to grow

The London School of Economics and Politics has acquired the Public Trustee Office next to its site in central London, UK, in a multimillion-pound deal. The acquisition will give the university an extra 110,000 sq ft of teaching accommodation and will enable it to increase its student numbers by a fifth over the course of the next five years.
