Inaction fuels research row.
Article Abstract:
Allegations of research misconduct made by lecturer Aubrey Blumsohn against his boss, Richard Eastell, and a junior colleague, Jackie Clowes, have still to resolved over 20 months since the initial complaint was made in September 2003, leaving a shadow hanging over Sheffield University's Medical School. Blumsohn initially claimed that it was substantially his work that was used to form the basis for a number of research grant applications made by Clowes and signed off by Eastell. Sheffield claims that the complexity of the case and a procedural error are responsible for the delay in sorting out the case.
