OU leads the way in use of multimedia
Article Abstract:
Multimedia, the mixing of sound, words, graphics and pictures is increasingly being used in higher education, particularly by the Open University. Computers allow people to learn in different ways, and students can work through in their own time and in their own way. Machines are being developed that will respond to voices rather than a keyboard or mouse, and they will become much smaller. College may come to the student at home, rather than the student leaving home, at least at the undergraduate stage.
