One ring, one million contexts
Article Abstract:
The professor of film and television studies at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, explains how he plans to sue the release of the final installment of The Lord of The Rings films, The Return of the King, to study other cultural takes on fantasy and to test whether or not Hollywood is colonising the world's imagination. The aim of the study will be, once all the data is collated, to fully understand why and how a story such as The Lord of the Rings matters to different people, and how they relate the film and its themes into their wider lives.

Article Abstract:
An analysis of work being done into the tuberculosis bacteria in an attempt to understand how it works and therefore reduce the number of people infected with the disease. At present, one-third of the Earth's population are infected with the bacterium that causes tuberculosis, but in nine out of ten people the bacterium remains dormant. Work is being done to try and discover how to activate the bacterium, as once active the bacterium is far easier to treat than when it is dormant.
