The Russian government of Vladimir Putin is dramatically reforming the country's education system despite opposition. Many fear the changes will deny higher education to numerous students, but the government is hoping its plan will help in the country's economic recovery.

UK quality guidelines perpetuate colonialism

The quality of higher education in Britain is examined by comparison with the Russian higher education system. It is observed that the British higher education courses lack relevant guidelines and that the students have too few class contact hours.
