Article Abstract:
An analysis of the strong regional partnerships that have been developed by universities across the UK and how this expertise could be exported around the world. It is suggested that in Latin American countries the expertise of UK universities in the fields of regional economic development and urban planning would be prized and that this is an area that UK universities should consider exploiting.

An analysis of the role class plays in higher education and the efforts being made to increase the number of students coming from the lower social classes. Universities need to face up to the fact that class does play a part in higher education and set up facilities to cater for those from a working class background.
