Nick Jardine, professor of the history and philosophy of science at Cambridge University, runs an annual fungus hunt for colleagues and students through Thetford Forest. Jardine, who is a keen mycologist and knows the names of over 2,000 fungi, runs the hunts as a way of allowing participants to think about the subject of natural history in a relaxed way while having some fun.
