A number of charts and tables giving an overview of the changing face of higher education in the United Kingdom over a period of more than 20 years. The figures reveal changes in the number of students in the UK, campus composition, the number of part-time students, the number of full-time and women students, as well as trends in results and the availability of resources.

Syria gets boost as US is shunned
Article Abstract:
The number of Syrians studying in the US has fallen by a third in the last five years, to the direct benefit of universities in Syria as a period of reform is entered. A governmental decree in 2001 allowed private universities to compete with the five state-run universities in Syria and eight private institutions have opened in the last three years.
