Vanquish the fatal five
Article Abstract:
University managers are mostly to blame for the five "fatal flaws" - identified as weak leadership, poor communication, blame culture, excessive bureaucracy and conflict - that can ruin an academic department, according to researchers at Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Integral Excellence. The researchers warn that any one of these five can ruin a department and that if universities want to compete in the global market then they must deliver top-class "organisational excellence".
