Article Abstract:
An analysis of the Government's education policy and how it is failing to properly address the issue of vocational qualifications. It is argued that it is wrong to send everybody into the higher education system when for many it would be much better, more productive and financially more sensible to take a vocational course that would give them skills that could enhance their employability.

An analysis of the consultation process on fair admissions to universities in the United Kingdom that is being conducted by Steven Schwartz. It is argued that the process represents too small a segment of the community and ignores the possibility of using a numerical scoring system to assess potential candidates.
