...believe universities shoud be more understanding of fee-paying students
Article Abstract:
Universities need to be more understanding of the impact financial pressures have on students, forcing them to take jobs outside of university time in order to make sure that they do not fall too far in to debt. These jobs may mean for some students that the time available to work on assignments is limited and, therefore, they may need slight extensions to their assignment deadlines. Giving these extensions may be all that stands between some students graduating or dropping out.

...believe the tuition-fee regime may force students out of the arts
Article Abstract:
The introduction of tuition fees for university students could well have an adverse impact on the number of students opting to take the arts. It is suggested that future students will, as a result of the large level of debt they are very likely to have when they graduate, tend to evaluate their choice of degree from an economic point of view and, therefore, gravitate towards degrees which are more likely to give them a better salary when they leave university.
