CY-TV9000D car A/V system

Matsushita Communication Industrial Co Ltd introduces its CY-TVD9000D car audio-video (A/V) systems that feature a 7-in wide in dash television and a built-in DVD player, both of which have a 1-DIN size. Also, the company has launched CY-TVC7000D, which has a 7-in wide in-dash TV and built-in CD player, as well as CA-TU9000D and CA-TU700D, which are both A/V master units. Prices are $1,818 for CY-TVD9000D, $1,436 for CY-TVC7000D, $745 for CA-TU9000D, and $382 for CA-TU7000D.

Demands for discs direct Clarion's expansion of car A/V lineup
Article Abstract:
Clarion Company Ltd will include video equipment in its auto electronics lineup, a move which the company hopes will double its sales for 1999. The video equipment will have in-dash, wide-screen thin-film transistor LCDs with 5.8-, 7- or 10-inch screens. Clarion would also be selling a 2-DIN in-dash LCD monitor with a 5-in screen, a CD player, a casette mechanism and an AM/FM tuner with a 120W amplifier. Another model would feature the Electronic Start function.

Pioneer's HTZ-55DV 5.1-channel surround system
Article Abstract:
Pioneer has introduced the HTZ-55DV 5.1 Channel Surround system with DVD and CD players and an FM and AM tuner. The HTZ-55DV also incorporates a Dolby/DTS digital decoder for reproducing movie theater Surround effects. It also features a subwoofer with built-in 5.1-channel 265W power amplifier and satellite speakers that can be placed sideways or vertically. The HTZ-55DV sells for 112,000 yen or $1,037.
