Digital cameras poised to replace conventional cameras
Article Abstract:
Digital cameras are predicted to replace film-based cameras in most applications when prices for these products declined as well as the challenges these products faced are overcome. Unlike conventional cameras that use a chemical reaction to capture images, digital cameras use an electronic device known as an image sensor instead of film. The market for digital cameras is expanding rapidly becuase of improved imaged quality and the emergence of suitable photo infrastructure, such as printers and digital photo services.

The growing demand for digital cameras is expected to have a positive effect on the parts manufacturing industry. This includes market improvements for related parts, increase in demand for personal computers and printers, and creation of new image services, such as picture printing services using the Internet. As demand for digital cameras continue to soar in Europe, Japan and the US, forecasters are projecting that wordwide demand will reach 12 million-13 million units or more.
