Fast Forward: Stereo TV: Great New Sales Opportunity, If.
Article Abstract:
Germany and Japan have had stereo TV for some years and were able to adapt their systems quickly. In the United States the progress is more complicated because broadcasters are privately owned. The Broadcast Television Standards Committee (BTSC) Multichannel TV Sound (MTS) will have both stereo audio and Separate Audio Program (SAP) channels. The SAP will be used mostly for bilingual broadcasts. Broadcasts for stereo TV will be limited for still some time.
